PostSubject: He Was There All Along...   Wed Jun 10, 2009 6:23 am

This is a story I wrote when I was younger, so it isn't my best work. I want to know what you guys think of it, though. Very Happy

He Was Here All Along…

Prologue- Bella Williams is on a hunt for one thing-The perfect guy. She wants someone who will call her beautiful instead of hot, someone who makes her feel special, someone who is not afraid to say “I love you,” in front of his friends. Raymond Roland wants one thing-The perfect girl. Someone who will never cheat, someone who isn’t afraid of taking a chance, someone who will love him for who he is, not for what he has. or what he looks like .Together, they look for the perfect match for the other, but they end up falling in love along the way.

Uh...12 and 2 months XD Not that much younger :3 It gets weird though...

Chapter 1-

“Wake up! It’s time for school!” Bella’s mother yelled from downstairs. Bella rolled over. “Thirty more minutes, mom!” she called. “School starts in thirty minutes, get up NOW!” Bella sighed, but hopped out of bed. She quickly dressed, brushed her teeth, and ran down the stairs. She ran out the front door and sprinted to the bus stop, just in time to catch the bus. She jumped in just as the doors shut, and then took her seat next to her best friend-Raymond Roland.
Raymond shook his head. “When are you gonna learn, Isabella?” Bella elbowed Ray in the ribs. “It’s Bella, you twerp!” Joyce Pursue turned around from the seat ahead of them. “Aw, what a cute little couple!” she teased. Joyce was the most popular girl in seventh grade, and also the most conceited. Bella rolled her eyes. “When are ya gonna realize we are just friends?” she asked. Joyce laughed. “When pigs fly! You two will end up falling in love! Oh, also work on your grammar, ‘ya’ and ‘gonna’ aren’t words.” Bella glared, but didn’t say anything back. She just slouched and stared out the window.
Ten minutes later, they bus pulled up to the school. Bella and Ray rushed out of the bus and to homeroom. As they ran, they bumped into Mr. Ratter, who was their principal. They fell to the ground in unison. Mr. Ratter snorted. “You two race to homeroom everyday. When are you going to grow up?” he snapped. Bella and Ray exchanged glances, then together shouted, “When dogs learn to talk!” They both took off, racing down the hall. “Detention, both of you!” Mr. Ratter called out, but they didn’t care. They were having way too much fun.
They trotted side by side, stepping at the same time. Bella and Ray turned the corner, and Ray shouted, “There it is!” referring to Room 19, their homeroom class. Ray skidded down the hall on his slick shoes, and ended up crashing into the door. He fell on his back in front of Lillah, a stuck up friend of Joyce’s. She stuck up her nose and said, “Look what the janitor forgot to pick up!” Her prissy friends all giggled at her comment. Bella ran up and growled. “Leave him alone, you-” she started, but Lillah cut her off. “Oh, and here is his even filthier girlfriend!” she exclaimed. Her friends began jumping up and down. Bella opened her mouth to say something, but their teacher came out first. “Come in, ladies and gentlemen,” she said.
Lillah and her friends took their seats by the window, while the jocks sat at the back, the nerds in the middle, and the other social groups at the front. (This included Ray and Bella.) “Welcome back to school, did everyone have a good winter break?” Mrs. Thebes asked. “Yes!” everybody said at once. Mrs. Thebes did roll call, and smiled when she found out everyone was there. “Now, go on to your next class students!” Ray and Bella walked outside and hugged. “See you in two more periods,” Bella said. “Yeah, see ya!” Ray said. He turned and ran down the hall, and ended up crashing into a group of girls. Bella shook her head. “Dork!” she called out to him!
Bella walked to math class, her least favorite. She wished she was a math whiz like Ray, who happened to be top in his class. He had math fourth period. She walked into Mr. Talco’s class and sat down. When everyone was there, he said, “Pop quiz!” and handed out tests. Half of the kids sighed, while the other half slept. Bella stared at her test, which was about algebra. She bit the end of her pencil, a very bad habit of hers. She slowly marked question one as A, and continued on to the next.
At 8:30 the bell rang. Bella had just finished her test, and she walked up to Mr. Talco’s desk to hand in the paper. She then walked across the hall to social studies and took her seat at the front of the room, next to the class clown. She looked over at him, only to see he had two pencils jammed up his nose. Bella looked away and tried to hold in her puke. She let out a sigh of relief when her teacher, Ms. Phelps yelled at him. Ms. Phelps pulled down a map of Egypt. “We’ll be studying this fine country for the next three weeks. To see what you already know, here is a little practice test!” The entire class moaned, but she ignored them. Bella hated social studies almost as much as math! “At least Ray will be in my next class,” she thought.
After the bell rang, Bella ran out of class to the end of the hall. This was her favorite class-art. Bella was an amazing artist, and had one first in the district art show two years in a row. Ray on the other hand was the boy who always glues himself to things on accident. He was very clumsy. She ran to the back table and took her spot between Ray and Rosie, a shy bookworm who loved drawing horses. Bella smiled at Ray as she sat down, and when he returned it, snickers were heard across the room. Unfortunately, Joyce and Lillah were in her class, too. “Why does everyone think we are dating?” Ray said aloud to no one in particular. “Maybe because you guys are always…together?” Rosie suggested. Bella and Ray turned there heads. “Rosie, you can talk?” Ray asked, his eyes wide. Bella rolled hers and said, “Of course she can! She just doesn’t like talking to idiots like you!” she teased. Ray slouched in his chair and started playing with his belt. Rosie continued. “I mean, you guys are so close, and the way you tease each other, it’s almost…flirtatious!” Ray looked up with a “What is she talking about?” expression. He stared at her as if she was insane, then went back to playing with his belt.
Miss Lynch came in a few minutes later. She smacked a large binder on her desk, which was never a good sign. Miss Lynch was beautiful, smart, and sweet, but when she got angry, you’d better watch out. She looked around the room. “Today, we will be drawing things we hate! Whether it be bugs, an animal, or even a person, pick one thing and jot it down!” Bella watched as Rosie started to draw a spider on a web. She picked up her pencil and started to draw the Pretty Committee, what Joyce called her group of friends. When she looked over at Ray, she wrinkled her brow. “What is that?” she asked. On his paper was the ugliest girl she had ever seen. Ray grinned. “It’s you! You’re ugly, annoying, and bossy, and I hate you. So, I put you on my paper!” Bella made sure Miss Lynch wasn’t watching, and then smacked him on the head. “Jerk!” she whispered. “This is exactly why people think you guys are into each other!” Rosie giggled! Bella and Ray looked at each other, then at Rosie. They knew she was right, but it was so fun to fight. After some deep thought, Ray said, “I’d rather have people think we are dating then stop fighting!” he said cheerfully. “Agreed!” Bella said.

Chapter 2-

At 10:30 the bell rang. Everyone turned in their drawings and left the room. Ray headed right to left to math class, while Bella headed left for P.E. Ray sat down in the middle of the room with the nerds. If he didn’t know the answer, he could just sneak a peek at their papers. Mr. Talco smiled when he saw Ray. “Ready for some more challenging work, star pupil?” he asked. Ray nodded. He secretly hated math, even if he was awesome at it. He turned his head to stare out the window. Outside was the race track. Girl’s P.E. would be coming out soon, and at the thought of that he smiled. “Girls are better than problems,” he thought. They came running out as he got up to get a math book. He waved as Bella ran by. She smiled, then took off. Bella was the fastest girl in the group, and the fastest girl in the seventh grade. Ray stood awhile longer to look at everyone run by. Ray sighed, because what he wanted was a girl. Not just any girl, but the perfect girl for him.
“Raymond stop checking out the girls!” Mr. Talco boomed. Ray trudged over to his seat and plunged into it. “Come on Mr. Talco, didn’t you check out girls when you were our age?” Mr. Talco sighed. “Raymond, don’t ask silly questions!” A boy sitting behind Ray said, “That’s a yes, Ray!” They class roared. Mr. Talco handed the boy a detention slip. “I will not tolerate this behavior in class, Sylvester!” The boy glared. “It’s Sly, teach,” he growled. “And it’s Mr. Talco!” the math teacher snapped. Now, open your books to chapter 4, page 68.
Bella quickly changed back into her regular clothes. She hated changing in front of the other girls, it felt so weird to her, even if they were the same gender. When she sat down on the bench to tie her shoes, one of Lillah’s ex-friends came up to her. “Are you like, dating Ray Roland or something?” Bella sighed. She was used to it, but she still loathed the conversation. “No, Sandra, we are nothing but friends, and we will always be nothing but friends.” Sandra nodded. “Okay, okay, don’t have to get all moody!” She turned to walk away, but then stopped at the end of the lockers. “It’s just that, you guys are such a cute couple!” When Bella snorted, she laughed and walked away. The bell rang, and Bella was glad. She raced out of the locker room to the cafeteria. She and Ray got lucky, they shared fifth period. After Bella got her lunch, she walked to the outside lunch spot to her usual table. Ray was making a sandwich monster. “Geek!” she joked. Ray looked up and glared. “Whatever, zit face!” he yelled. Bella pulled out her pocket mirror. “There’s not a single zit on my face!” she laughed. “So?” he shrugged.
The fifth period P.E. class ran by then. Bella sighed. “I wish I had a boyfriend, one that likes to cuddle and be close, someone who will actually listen to me, someone who-” Ray started snoring, so Bella punched him on the arm. Hard. “Ow!” he shouted. He rubbed his arm. Well, I want a girlfriend, but I guess were are both stuck being single!” Bella sighed. “I want a perfect guy, but I don’t know where to look for him or who to look into!” She rested her chin in her hands. “I think everyone has that problem, Bell,” Ray said. They sighed in unison. “But the girls at our school are all pretty hot!” Bella kicked him under the table. Ray raised his eyebrows. “Hey, at least I don’t go ‘Omg, he is soooo hot! Oh, he’s so cute! I love him in that shirt!’ with my friends!” Bella grinned. “Hey, he is pretty cute in that shirt!” The bell rang and they both threw away their lunch. Together they walked to science
class.
Mrs. Branshe placed a science book on everyone’s desk. “Open up to chapter 2.3-The urinary system!” she yelled over the ruckus. Ray raised his hand. “Yes, Ray?” Mrs. Branshe was the only teacher who called him Ray, besides his coach, so she was his favorite teacher. “Is this the uh…apple juice system?” he questioned. Most of the class laughed. The teacher smiled. “Why, yes it is, Ray! Would you like to teach the class about this system, since you’ve been wanting to learn about this section since the beginning of the year?” Ray nodded, and Mrs. Branshe beckoned him towards her. She gave him her book, and told him to sit on her teaching stool. She walked over to his seat and sat next to Bella. “Okay,” Ray said. “The urinary system’s main function is to maintain the volume and composition of body fluids within normal limits. It produces, stores, and eliminates urine, also known to us as apple juice due to the Caroline and Morris incident!” Everyone bursted into laughter. Ray continued. “It helps us get rid of wastes, and if we didn’t have the system, I think we’d all blow up and die from containing too much apple juice!” This was followed by more laughs. Ray finished the chapter on the urinary system. “Okay, tomorrow you all will be having a test! Be sure to study apple juice!” he said. Mrs. Branshe patted him on the back. “Be sure to study, too. You’ll be having a test as well!” she said.
Ray and Bella walked out of Room 13, then took their separate directions to seventh period. Bella walked to English while Ray ran to P.E. Ray slid into the locker room, which had been abandoned. He quickly changed into his school uniform, ran out the double doors and onto the track. Ray speeded past the other runners and finished the mile way before anyone else. Bella and Ray were the top runners and athletes for each gender in the school, which is another reason why they are mistaken for a couple. Mr. Gabon walked up to the group of boys. “It’s soccer time! Everyone split into two teams!” Boys ran around finding partners, then started playing. Fifteen minutes later, Ray tripped and skinned his knee. His coach called him over to the benches to fix him up. Ray’s friend Dylan was there, ice on his leg because he was kicked in the shin with soccer cleats. “How’s it going?” Dylan asked Ray as he sat down. “My knee hurts, so it’s going okay,” he said. Dylan nodded. “Same here.”
Bella quickly finished chapter on her biography of George Washington. She thought it was the most boring book in the world, yet her teacher thought it was the best. She looked at the board to see what questions she had to answer. She jotted down the answers to the ten questions, not particularly caring if they were wrong. She just wanted to read her favorite book for the rest of the period instead. Bella turned in her paper and returned to her seat. She opened her backpack and took out the novel, then was whisked away with it. About fifteen minutes later, she glanced at the clock-12:30. “Thank God chemistry class is next!” Bella thought, since she did so well in it.
Ray and Dylan were still on the benches, taking care of their wounds. The coach didn’t want them playing while they were in pain, so he said they should stay there for the next half hour and talk. They mainly talked about sports and girls, but then Dylan brought up a topic no one had ever asked him before. “Hey, can I ask you something, Ray?” he questioned. Ray looked up. “Yeah, sure, what is it?” he said. “Well, I was just wondering…How long have you and Bella known each other?” he cocked his head while speaking. “We met in kindergarten,” Ray said. Dylan’s eyes grew wide. “Whoa! But, how did you guys…You know, become best friends? I’ve always wondered that!” Ray smiled. He had always wanted to tell the tale about how they met, and why they became best friends. He finally had the chance! He took a deep breath and said, “It’s a very long story, so it might have to finish after school, too,” he explain. Dylan nodded. “Fine with me, you have my number,” Ray grinned. “It all started on the first day of September, a month of our first year of school had passed…”

Chapter 3-

“Bella and I were out at recess, running around like maniacs like all the other little kids,” Ray continued. “I was climbing up the slide when someone pushed me off. I fell on my butt and started to cry. The class bully came up to me and started laughing. The next day he stole my favorite blanket, and the day after he broke the toys I brought for Show-N-Tell,” Ray explained. Dylan nodded. “I see, continue.” Ray started up again. “The teacher never believed me, even though the class all said he was doing those things. I finally just tried faking I was sick, but of course me mom didn’t believe it. I told her what was really happening, so she called the parents. The night she went to their house and explained the situation. Neither adults believed her, so my mom stopped believing me, even when I came home after school crying. The next day I went to school, crying my eyes out.” Dylan started laughing. “Crybaby!” he said. Ray glared, but continued. “At recess, I was building a sandcastle with my friend Alex. The bully came up to me and started kicking sand. When tears filled my eyes, he started pointing and laughing. He stole my apple juice and spilled it all out. Afterwards, he handed me the straw and grinned. A few seconds later, a figure came up behind him and pushed him to the ground. It was Bella, and she started kicking sand on him. She jumped on his stomach, glared and said, ‘Leave him alone you pigheaded jerk!’” Dylan’s eyes went wide. “Dang, never would of thought Bella would do that!” Ray nodded. “She’s that type of girl. Anyways, she shared her apple juice with me. The next day, the bully didn’t bug anyone. Bella and I became best friends, and he never bugged anyone again!” Just as Ray finished, the bell rang. The both got up and headed to chemistry class together.
They both entered the room and sat next to Bella. Dylan said, “Never would of thought you’d beat a kid up, Bella!” Bell looked at him and laughed. “You really don’t know me then, do you?” she joked. Miss Adlib entered the room and behind her desk. “Welcome to chemistry class,” she said. “You must all think this is about potions and solutions, but you are wrong!” The class exchanged confused glances. “My class talks about relationships, love, and reproduction, which is why this class is only one semester,” she explained. “We will start today by saying what are the most important things to make sure your partner has. Now, who knows one?” The school quarterback raised his hand and said, “She has to be hot!” His team laughed. On the side of the T-chart labeled ‘Girlfriends’ Miss Adlib put down, ‘Decent in looks.’ Half of the class raised their hands, and this is how the list turned out:

Girlfriends
Decent in looks.
Not a gold digger.
Supports your career choices.
Listens to you, even if they don’t know what you’re talking about
Loves you for who you are, not for what you have.
Nice, not stuck up.
Curvy.
Outgoing.
Likes to party.
Helps you with schoolwork.
Smart, but not nerdy
Smells good.
Cheers you up.

Boyfriends
Looks decent
Loves you for more than how you look.
Cares about your life choices.
Listens to you.
Calls you beautiful instead of hot.
Tickles you, kissed you, and says “I love you!”
Brainy.
Muscular.
Caring and sensitive.
Talks about his problems.
Never cheats.
Trustworthy.
Wears cologne.

There were so many other ideas, but Miss Adlib didn’t put them all on the board. She started to explain that you should look for these things in your partner, and not just like them for their looks or for what they have. The whole time Ray and Bella were nodding their heads. Everything people said they look for in a person was what they looked in a person. They wanted a boyfriend/girlfriend that did those things, or had those things. They both wanted the perfect person in their life. For homework, Miss Adlib assigned them to make a list of everything they want in a person, and don’t just put down big things like, ‘Must be smart!’ She told them to go into as much detail as possible. The project was due Friday, and they would all take a few days to present their own list. At 3:00 pm the bell rang. Bella and Ray ran down the hall and out of the front door. They ran through the parking lot and all of the way to the street corner. The cross guard let them cross, and when they hit the corner, they started to talk.
“This assignment is so awesome! I’m going to need ten sheets of paper just to do it!” Bella shouted. Ray laughed. “Yeah, you’re just too picky for one!” Bella rolled her eyes. “You need about five!” she said. Ray grinned. “I guess we are both pick, huh Isabella?” She punched him on the arm. “Don’t call me that!” she growled. “But I like that name,” Ray whimpered. Bella stared at him. No one had ever said they liked her name before, not even her parents. They stayed silent for awhile, until Ray said, “Who do you think would be a good match for me?” Bella raised her eyebrows. “Why?” Ray groaned. “Just answer, okay?” Bella thought hard. “How about…Rosie? She’s smart, nice, and pretty!” Ray thought. “Yeah, but she’s too shy. I want someone who can party all day long!” Bella tapped her chin, like she always does when she is thinking. “Well, who do you think is a good match for me?” she asked. Ray scratched his head. “I don’t know…Dylan maybe.” Bella gasped. “Why him? He’s your best guy friend, you’d actually want your best friend to go out with him?” Ray shrugged. “Well, you are both outgoing and you both love soccer…” Bella sighed, and the silence started up again.
When they almost arrived to their houses, they looked up at the same time and said, “I’ve got an idea! We should find the perfect match for the other!” They stared into each other’s eyes and laughed. They both agreed to never give up until they found the other’s partner. They turned down their street and walked up to their houses, which were conveniently next door to each other. They would both start searching for the other’s future love the next day, and would continue for the next years if they had to.

Chapter 4-

At 4:00 am, Bella’s phone rang. She turned over on her bed, and picked up the phone. “Hello?” she sleepily said? She hadn’t even bothered to see who had called. On the other line, all that was heard was breathing. “Hello?” Bella repeated. “Isabella…” someone whispered. “Who is this?” Bella demanded. “I know who!” the other voice shouted. Bella groaned. “Ray, why are you calling so early!?” she shouted. Ray ignored her question and continued. “Simon! He’s smart, nice, and he doesn’t seem like the type of guy who would cheat. What do you think?” Bella pinched her nose. “Ray, he doesn’t even know how to talk to girls, you ding-dong! Why are you even up?!” Ray sighed. “Jerk! I haven’t gone to bed yet, I can’t sleep!” Bella closed her eyes and thought. “I suppose you want to know who I think is right for you, am I correct?” “Duh!” Ray said. “Who is it?”
Bella thought hard. She hadn’t a clue who was right for him, and it was too early in the morning. “I’ll tell you on the bus, now don’t call back!” She clicked the phone off and went back to sleep, but not for long. At 5:00, Ray called again. Bella answered and said, “Hello, who is this?” Ray practically screamed into the phone. “Marvin! He’s a great guy, and he’s good with the ladies!” Bella screamed into her pillow. “He’s a player, now leave me alone!” She hung up the phone and went back to sleep. At 6:30, Ray called a third time. “What now!?” Bella shouted. “What about Lester?” Ray asked. Bella growled. “Call again and I’ll punch your face in when I see you!” After that, Ray stopped calling. He knew Bella would hurt him.
Bella boarded the bus at 7:00. Her eyes were dark from lack of sleep. When someone asked her what was wrong, she pointed at Ray. “Ask that little schmuck right there!” she said. Bella sat next to Ray and punched him in the stomach, head, and arm. “One for each call,” she explained. Ray looked at her with puppy dog eyes. “What?” she said, glaring at him. “Who should I go out with?” he questioned. Bella completely forgot about that. “Well…” She looked around the bus. “What about Lillah or Sandra?” Ray pretended to puke. “Why them?” he asked. “You’re all annoying…” Bella joked. Ray sighed, then slunk into his seat. “You are just like the class clown Eric, who shoves pencils up his nose!” Bella choked on air. “Excuse me!?” she yelled. She made a fist with her left hand. “I-I mean…”
Luckily for Ray, the bus pulled into the school parking lot. He ran off of the bus and all the way to homeroom, Bella not very far behind. Inside of the hall, he looked behind him to see how far away Bella was, and bumped into someone. They both went tumbling to the ground. Ray was on his stomach, and she was on her bottom. He looked up at her. “She’s beautiful,” he thought. He hopped to his feet and helped her up. “Sorry!” he exclaimed. The girl nodded. “It’s okay, it happens to me a lot,” She closed her eyes and scratched behind her head. She had dark brown hair and was wearing a checkered mint skirt and a mint shirt. Ray thought she was adorable. “I’m new here,” she explained. “My name is Julie Parker, and I’m cousins with that brat Joyce,” Ray gasped. “You don’t look or act like her at all,” he said. Julie smiled. “Thank goodness! So, who are you?” Ray looked up and blushed. “I’m-uh…Raymond Roland?” His statement seemed more like a question. “Everyone calls me Ray, though.” Julie smiled. “See you around, Ray!”
Bella stepped out from the corner. “Flirt!” she teased. Ray rolled his eyes. “Shut up Isabella, now I’ll race you to class!” They both took off running, and it ended up as a tie. “Maybe you should date Julie,” Bella said. Ray thought contently. “Maybe I should, huh?” Bella smiled. “Yeah, you should!” They walked into class and took their seats. Bella hid her face and frowned. She wanted Ray to be happy and have the love of his life, but she just couldn’t see him with anyone else. She wanted them to stay friends forever. Deep down, Bella secretly hoped he didn’t date Julie, or anyone for that matter.
Meanwhile, Ray looked around the room. He was looking for Bella’s future boyfriend, but no one seemed to fit. He sighed. Ray had thought finding her a guy would be easy. A few minutes later, Mrs. Thebes took roll call. Bella and Ray both got up and went their separate directions. In the hallway, Ray scanned everyone. He was looking for Julie, but she was no where to be found. He wished he would find her in one of his classes. He walked into Social Studies and searched the room, but Julie was no where to be found. He slid into his seat and stared at his teacher. Ms. Phelps started to explain how the Egyptians built their pyramids. She handed everyone a worksheet and told them to write down each step of pyramid building. Ray stared blankly at his book. He thought Egypt was one of the most boring topics to talk about. He quickly read over the chapter and wrote down each step with details of each step.
In math class, Bella was having a hard time finding the area of shapes. She bit down on her pencil hard, trying to figure out problem four. Mr. Talco must have noticed because he called her over to his desk. Bella sighed, and her cheeks flushed red. No one else was having problems with the worksheet like she was. She got out of her chair and brought her paper and pencil over. “Yes, Mr. Talco?” she asked. “What seems to be the problem?” he asked her. His face was concerned, worried for her. Bella looked at the floor. “I’m not really understanding this chapter, or any of the other chapters, to be more specific. I’ve never really been the best at math. It’s sort of embarrassing for me, since no one else is having problems,” Bella explained. Mr. Talco nodded. “I see. You may not believe this, but I used to be horrible at math. But look at me now! I’m teaching it,” Bella opened her mouth to say something, but then she closed it. “How about we get you a tutor, and see if your grades improve? I have some very good students from fourth period,” Bella nodded. “Thank you, Mr. Talco,” she said.
The bell rang and Ray walked out of the room. He walked over to the music room and took a seat with the other guitar players. He talked with Dylan who played bass. They were thinking bout starting a band together. He told him all about trying to find the perfect match for Bella. Dylan laughed. “So is she looking for your match?” he asked. Ray nodded, and then told him about Julie. “Oh, she sits next to me in first period. She’s pretty nice, but she is a little dimwitted,” Dylan explained. Ray laughed. “I thought she would be smart!”
When Dylan got up, Ray sighed. He took out a notebook and crossed Julie’s name off of the ‘Perfect Girl’ list. He wanted someone who was smart, not dimwitted. Ray looked over the list. Five girls had already been eliminated from the list. He grabbed his guitar and started to practice the Pink Panther Theme. Dylan came back awhile later and preformed with him. During the song, Dylan leaned over and whispered, “You know, I bet you anything that Bella is going to be the last girl on that little list of yours!” Ray looked at him with wide eyes. Dylan smirked. “You know I’m right,” he said. Ray looked away. In his mind, he thought, “Could it be true? Wait, no, it couldn’t, we’re just friends, nothing more. Always have been, always will be…I think.” He hated that everyone thought they belonged together. Couldn’t they understand that they were nothing but best friends? The bell rang at 9:30. Ray put his guitar away and ran to art class. He would talk to Bella about Julie there.

Not at all! XD

Chapter 5-

Ray took his seat next to Bella. He waved to Rosie, then turned to Bella. “Julie is out,” he said. Bella scrunched her brow. “Already? Why?” she asked. “She’s dimwitted,” Ray clarified. “There’s a buzz kill,” Bella said. Rosie looked up. “Maybe you could ask your sister Renee if she knows any eighth graders you might like,” she suggested. Her voice was barely over a whisper. Bella looked at Ray. “That is a good idea!” she exclaimed. Ray nodded. “It is. Too bad my sister is a stuck up brat,” he said. Rosie giggled. “Well, I guess you’ll have to stick with girls your own age, Ray,” she joked. Bella smiled. She was glad Rosie was talking more. Randomly, Ray snapped his fingers and said, “David.” Rosie and Bella blinked. “What?” Bella asked. “David. He’s awesome, cool, and all of the girls think he is ’hunky.’” Rosie and Bella exchanged looks, then bursted into laughter. Miss Lynch then came around to each table, putting tiles and super glue on each one. “I want you to make your favorite animals out of tile,” she told them.
Bella started to make a Nobody from Kingdom Hearts II, while Ray made a Heartless from both games. Rosie stared at them. “I think she meant real animals,” she said. Bella and Ray completely ignored her comment. They were making these no matter what anyone said. About ten minutes later, Ray tapped Bella’s shoulder. “What now, Ray?” she asked. Ray pointed to his left arm. There, a piece of purple tile was super glued to his arm. Bella did a face palm, then told Miss Lynch, who told him it would come off in a few days if he soaked it once a day.
Forty minutes later, Bella left for P.E. and Ray left for math. Ray quickly calculated the area of all twenty math problems. He turned his paper into Mr. Talco, who gave him one hundred percent. Ray sat down and opened up his book. Awhile later, Mr. Talco called him to his desk. “Yeah, Mr. Talco?” he asked. Mr. Talco opened his mouth to speak, but then he caught sight of his arm. He raised his eyebrows, then continued. “I’ve been looking at your past grade reports for math, and your CSAP tests,” he told Ray. Ray nodded. “Okay, and…?” he asked. Mr. Talco clarified why. “You see, some students in other classes are having problems with math, specifically one in first period.” Ray immediately knew it was Bella. “Let me guess, Isabella?” he said. Mr. Talco smiled. “Yes, I was wondering if you would like to be a tutor for math, maybe you could be assigned to Isabella since you have the best scores? “ Ray agreed to help Bella out with math.
Bella left P.E. class and walked to the cafeteria. She picked up a sandwich, then found her usual lunch table. She waited patiently for Ray to come. When he did come, he started to tease her. “You need a tutor! You need a tutor!” She punched him in the ribs, then crossed her arms. “At least I don’t glue things to my body,” she said, smirking. Ray glared, then took a seat by her. “I still think you and Dylan go good together,” Ray said. Bella raised her eyebrows. “Well, I guess I could give him a shot, but you have to give Julie a chance. Maybe Dylan just thought she was dense,” They shook hands and then both set out to find Dylan and Julie.
They were found side by side, eating lunch together. “Could we join you?” Bella asked. Julie nodded. “Sure!” she said in her high pitched voice. Bella tried to ignore how annoying her voice was. She took a seat by Julie, while Ray took a seat by Dylan. “So, what’s up?” Ray asked. Julie started talking a lot about how she was, and what’s been happening all day. Every little detail she told. Bella practically fell asleep, and the whole time Ray’s eyes twitched. When lunch ended. The two were so glad. “Julie is so out of the question!” Ray said. “Yep, and Dylan is just more like a friend to me. I just can’t see myself with him,” Bella said. Ray took out his notebook and crossed Julie and Dylan off of the new list:

Chapter 6-

“This is really starting to be a pain,” Ray complained. “Everyone I say, you don’t like, or you just consider them a friend!” Bella giggled. “Guess you’ll have to wait until next year if we run out of boys on the list!” Ray groaned. He was hoping this adventure would be short and easy to accomplish. “Well, I guess you’ll have to do the same for me, because not many girls on that list are worth dating,” Ray said, grinning. Bella moaned, too. She loved adventures, but not ones that lasted a long time. “Let’s just get to science class,” she said. “At least it’ll be fun their.
When they arrived, Mrs. Branshe told them they would be having a test on yesterday’s chapter. “Let us hope Ray taught you all well yesterday!” she said. Everyone looked at Ray. Some faces said they would kill him if they failed, others said he better have taught them well. She passed everyone tests and watched them all take the test. One by one, students went up to her desk to turn in the paper. At the end of class, she passed everyone’s test back. No one got lower than a B+ on their test. Mrs. Branshe said she couldn’t believe how well they did, and she said Ray should teach them much more often.
The bell suddenly rang, and Ray headed over to the gym. It was time for the monthly health check. He walked over to the line a waited until it was his time to be weighed. The scale said he was at a healthy weight. Ray moved over to station to find out his height. Ray was pretty short, only being 5’0”-Just like Bella. He sighed, he wanted to get to 5’2” this year. He was tested on his strength, skill, energy, and eye coordination. Ray scored perfect on everything. He was put up as top of his class, right next to Bella. Eric, a giant fool came up to him and said, “Right next to your stupid girlfriend!” Ray turned around and glared. “One-She’s not my girlfriend. And two-She is not stupid!” Eric shrugged and walked away. “Guess Eric is out of the question,” he said aloud.
Ray and Bella ran to chemistry class. Miss Adlib was there holding a clipboard. She told everyone that they would be doing a partner project. Everyone would be paired with a member of the opposite gender. They would write a five page report together about what they would do if they were parents. Each page had to talk about these things:

1. The Baby Is Born!
A. Pick a gender and a name for the child.
B. Choose what hospital he/she was born in.
C. What time was the baby born? What time do you take him/her home?
2. Baby Shopping!
A. What clothes are you buying for your baby?
B. Pick what foods you will feed the baby.
C. Find toys for your child.
D. Buy pacifiers, sippy cups, and other utensils.
3. Big Decisions
A. Where will you live to take care of the child?
B. What will be best for the baby’s health?
C. Will one of you quit your job to watch him/her?
D. Are you taking the baby to parent classes or to baby school?
4. Schedule
A. What time will you wake the baby up?
B. When is play time, and when do you feed the baby?
C. When do you go outside to play at a park or somewhere else?
D. When is nap time?
E. What time is bed time?
5. Growing Up
A. How is your baby in the future?
B. What does your baby do now?
C. What education does he/she have?
D. When will the child move out of the house?
E. Will you have anymore children?

Mrs. Branshe walked around the room, looking at every student closely. She was calculating who she thought should be paired up with who. She told everyone to get up and talk to anyone who was not the same sex as you, so she could see who got along, and who didn’t. She was planning on making some good, and some bad pairs, to “add some spice” to the project. Bella and Ray starting talking first. Miss Adlib wrote something down. Eventually, kids starting moving around the room. At the end of class, she announced that she knew who was going to be with who. Miss Adlib said that everyone’s partner would be announced tomorrow at the beginning of class.
The last bell rang, and Ray and Bella raced to the bus stop. Once again, it ended up as a tie. They sat down in seat 14, where they had been sitting for the past 10 years. “I wonder who Miss Adlib set me up with. All I know is, it better not be Sandra, Joyce, or Lillah!” Ray said when the bus started moving. Bella nodded. “I better not get anyone stupid, either!” Bella said. Ray smiled. “Like Eric?” “Yeah, him!” Bella said. Ray told her that Eric had been eliminated from the list. “Good!” Bella exclaimed. “Even if he was my perfect match, which there is no possible way he could be, I still wouldn’t date him. He is way too ugly for someone as beautiful as me!” she said. Ray smirked. “You mean you would go out with him because you are both super ugly, am I right?” Bella punched him lightly in the arm. “You and Sandra should be paired up. You are both obnoxious little brats,” Bella teased. For the rest of the bus ride, they sat in silence. They were too busy trying to figure out who their partner for chemistry class, and for the real world, would be.

*Smacks* I am no fool XD I'll post the next two chapters...XD

Chapter 7-

The perfect match list now looked like this:

7th Grade Boys
Dylan-X
Simon-X
Marvin-X
Morris-X
David
Sylvester
Alex
Lester-X
Eric-X
Stan
Dalek
Kyle
Kenny
Kai
Zack
Poe
Oscar
Skyler
Jose
Derek
Ray

7th Grade Girls
Sandra-X
Joyce-X
Lillah-X
Julie-X
Rosie-X
Caroline
Persia
Asia
Misty
Alice
Debra
Auis
Lola
Layna
Emily
Shay
Tally
Tatum
Tara-X
Sydney
Bella

Eric had been crossed off the list, and so was Tara. Ray and Tara had been worst enemies since the second grade, when Tara stole Ray’s cookie. Bella thought it was silly to stay mad at Tara for something so stupid, but Ray thought that it was a very big deal. “I’ll never get that boy,” Bella thought.
School went by pretty fast for both of them. When chemistry class rolled around, everyone in that class grew antsy. They wanted to know who their partner was. Miss Adlib entered the room and saw everyone shaking. She raised her eyebrows. “I guess I’ll call out the partners, then. Here is the eighth grade couples,” All of the seventh graders ignored these names. They didn’t care about those couples, they cared about their own! Then Miss Adlib announced who the seventh grade couples would be. “Kai will be with Sydney. Derek will be with Tara. Joyce will be with Stan. Alex with Tatum, Auis with Kyle, Ray with Layna, and Bella with Poe,” she said. “Everyone go find a seat next to your partner, and start working!”
Bella found a seat with Poe at the second to last table to the right side of the room, while Ray and Layna sat a table behind them. Bella stared at Poe. He had always scared her a little, since he was said to be a Chinese playboy who could barely speak English. They were right. Poe kept on speaking Chinese to her, and from what she could tell, he was flirting. Bella turned around and said to Ray, “An F is coming my way, I can’t even understand what he is saying!” Ray laughed. “He probably doesn’t even know what the assignment is about!” Bella groaned. She got up and told Miss Adlib the situation. She decided to let Bella work by herself. She sent Poe off to an English class for extra help. ay took out his notebook and crossed off Poe. “He is out of the question, now,” he said to Bella. Bella smiled, then continued to work on the project by herself.
On the bus, Ray said that Layna wasn’t a good choice, either. “She’s way too hyper, it’s annoying,” he explained. Bella nodded. “I agree, she is pretty annoying,” Ray took out his notebook and crossed Layna off. “Our list is getting a lot smaller, we might be finding the right person soon!” he said. Bella turned her head and frowned. “Great!” she said. In her mind, she was really upset. She was wanting Ray to not find the perfect girl more and more. “Why am I feeling this way?” she thought. She had cared for Ray all of her life, but it seemed like her feelings were getting a lot stronger for him. She decided to ignore these feelings. “Who do you think will be in the top three for my perfect match?” she asked. Ray closed his eyes to think. “Probably Stan, Dalek, and me!” he joked. Bella rolled her eyes. “No chance that you’ll be my perfect man, you’re not even a man!” she said. Ray looked at her, confusion showing. “And you think all of those other boys are?” Bella tapped her chin. “Hmm, good point!” she said.
They hopped off of the bus and walked up to their houses. “See you tomorrow,” Ray said. He smiled in a way Bella had only seen him show to girls he had liked in the past. She smiled back. “Yeah, see you tomorrow!” She walked into her house and locked the door. She ran up her stairs and jumped on her bed. “Why do I feel this way!?” she screamed. Ray sighed, then opened his door. She locked it, then placed his back up to it. “What is wrong with me?” he said aloud. He had been feeling the exact same way as Bella, but he hadn’t a clue why. He was also secretly hoping that Bella wouldn’t find her perfect match. He opened up his notebook and looked at the list of names. There were only fourteen boys left, including him. Only fourteen girls remaining, including Bella. He wondered why he never crossed Bella off, or why she never bothered to have him cross his name off of the list. Questions started to fill his mind. He started to think crazy thoughts that he never knew he could think. He was actually wondering if she could be a perfect match for him!

Chapter 8-

“It’s Thursday? Man, this had been a long week!” Ray complained. Bella giggled. “Yeah, but man up and deal with it!” Ray snapped his fingers and turned his hand. “Whatever girlfriend!” he said. He did it so badly that Bella couldn’t help but scream with laughter. Ray glared. “Whatever. Anyways, I can’t wait until this project is over with! It’s so annoying spending all of that time with Layna La Loony!” Bella laughed. “Fitting nickname!” she said. Ray smiled, then reached into his backpack. He pulled out his notebook and showed the list to her:

7th Grade Boys
Dylan-X
Simon-X
Marvin-X
Morris-X
David
Sylvester
Alex
Lester-X
Eric-X
Stan
Dalek
Kyle
Kenny
Kai
Zack
Poe-X
Oscar
Skyler
Jose
Derek
Ray

7th Grade Girls
Sandra-X
Joyce-X
Lillah-X
Julie-X
Rosie-X
Caroline
Persia
Asia
Misty
Alice
Debra
Auis
Lola
Layna-X
Emily
Shay
Tally
Tatum
Tara-X
Sydney
Bella

Bella studied the list. “Who is Stan?” she asked. Ray gasped. “You don’t know who he is? I thought all of the girls knew, since they’re always talking about him!” Bella raised her eyebrows. “So, how about you introduce me to him today?” she asked. “Okay, we have the same lunch period, so that works out perfectly!” Bella grinned. “How about you meet Sydney today? She’s seems pretty nice!: Ray agreed to go talk to her during chemistry. The bus pulled up to the bus stop, and they both got on.
When they arrived at school, they raced to homeroom and ended up bumping into Persia. “Ugh, watch where you are going, you ugly little boy!” she yelled in her strong, Persian accent. Ray took out his notebook and marked Persia off of the list. “I don’t like mean girls,” he said. Belled chuckled, then walked into class. She stared at the clock all day until fourth period, since she had to run. When the bell rang, her heart skipped a beat. She talked to her friend Tatum about Stan. Tatum told her that he was this super hot, smart, funny, and nice boy who was currently single. Bella was practically skipping to the lunchroom.
Bella found the table Ray was sitting at. She walked up to him and was about to yell, but then she saw him. His gorgeous dark blue eyes, his jet black hair, his lovely face, and his adorable beauty mark. “Oh, hello,” she said, trying to keep her cool. “What’s up?” “Nothing much,” he said. “I’ve heard a lot about you from Ray,” he said. Bella smiled and sat down. They talked for awhile, and then came the popular question. “So, are you guys dating or something?” Ray shook his head, and Bella said, “No way, we’re just friends!” Stan smiled. “Okay,” he said. “So, my sister and I are going to the movies tomorrow. You guys want to come?” he asked. Trying not to seem eager, Bella pretended to think. “Sure, why not?” she said. “Awesome! See you around,” he said. Bella smiled as he left. “You were so trying to keep your cool!” Ray said, when Stan was out of earshot. Bella slapped his arm, then threw her trash away.
When Ray wasn’t looking, she held her hands to her chest and said, “I’ve got a date!” She floated to science class, feeling like she was on top of the world. She speeded through the chapter about the skeletal system, and asked to go to the library. She got three books that talk all about love. She read for the rest of class, then skipped down the English. Ray watched her from the doorway. He sighed. “Maybe it was a bad idea to introduce them,” he thought. He turned left, then walked out the double doors, onto the field. He changed slowly, not wanting to run. “Tomorrow,” he thought. “It’s my last chance to see Bella single…”
In chemistry class, Bella doodled on her paper. She kept drawing hearts and kept on writing the word love. Ray pouted at the table behind her. Layna started gabbing about some guy who was always flirting with her. Ray banged his head on the table about five times. “Who cares!?” he shouted. The whole room grew quiet. He stared at everyone, scanning the class. He bursted out of the room and to the bathroom to think. About ten minutes later, Derek was sent to go find him. “You okay, dude?” he asked. Ray shook his head. “I can’t believe Bella is finally getting a boyfriend!” Derek thought, then said. “How do you feel about this?” Ray closed his eyes. “I don’t know…Sad that I’ll be spending less time with her, mad that she’s going to abandon me, and…” he stopped. He felt… “Jealous?” Derek suggested. Ray nodded. “I’m not sure why though.”
They grew silent. About three minutes later, the bell rang. They headed to class to get their backpacks. Ray decided he was going to walk home with Derek. After they left school campus, they started to talk. When Derek turned to go down his street, he turned to Ray and said, “Sorry to break this to you man, but you are in love…” He started to walk away. Ray just stood their puzzled.

*Smacks*

Chapter 9-
“I’m in what!?” Ray thought. “No way, I must of heard him wrong. Bella’s just a friend, nothing more. I don’t have feelings for her I…” Ray turned around and started running. He had to talk to a girl. He couldn’t just go and ask Bella, he had to ask the only person he had left-His sister. The thought sent shivers down his spine. When he walked into his house, he smacked his head. “What am I thinking!? She wouldn’t help me, not in a million years!” he said aloud. “Who wouldn’t help you?” He spun around. His sister had her arms crossed, and she was tapping her foot, waiting for an explanation. “You’re home for once,” Ray said, trying to ignore her question. Renee glared. “Quit stalling and tell me, who wouldn’t help you in a million years?” Ray froze, then pretended to stare into space, acting as if she wasn’t there.
“Ray!” she shrieked. She walked up to him and smacked him on the head as hard as she could. He fell to the ground. When he looked up, she had her hand raised. “Tell me or I’ll smack you again!” she threatened. Ray sighed, then motioned for her to come with him. She rolled her eyes, but followed. When they got up to her room, he said, “You ready?” Renee laid down on her bed. “Sure, why not?” Ray sat on the foot of the bed and closed his eyes. “You,” he said. Renee sat up. “What?” she snapped. Ray opened his left eye. “You wouldn’t help me in a million years. Renee let out a sigh. “You know I hate your guts, but I also have to love you very, very deep down. Now, what’s on your mind?”
Ray’s eyes widened. He never knew he could come to his sister for help. They’d been worst enemy’s as soon as Renee had hit thirteen. He looked strait into her eyes and said, “I need you to be one hundred percent honest with me. Do you think that I am in love?” Renee thought for a moment. “In love with who?” she asked. Ray frowned. “Well, you know…Bella,” he said. “You’re best friend? You really want to know what I think?” she said. Ray nodded. “I really, really need to know.” Renee looked directly into his eyes. “Dude, you are totally in love with her. Even though you don’t want to admit it to anyone, not even yourself, you have deep feelings for you, you always have,”
Renee got off of the bed and walked to her dresser. She threw his notebook at him. The Perfect Match notebook. Ray looked up at her. “Open it,” she said. Ray opened it up, then scanned the list, which now looked like this:

7th Grade Boys

“How did you-” Renee cut him off. “I know these things,” she said. Ray smiled. “I guess Dylan was right,” Renee smiled. “Guess he was,” Ray then frowned. “She doesn’t like me though, she likes some guy named Stan,” Renee rolled her eyes. “She loves you, too! She barely even knows the guy, she won’t love him!” Ray ripped out the list. “What are you doing?” Renee questioned. “Saving the real list. So Bella doesn’t know,” Renee grinned. “Good idea. Well, I’m going to go hang out with some friends, so I’ll see you later.” She left the room, leaving Ray alone with the paper. “My perfect match is my best friend? I wished I would have realized this sooner!”
Suddenly, the phone rang. Ray picked it up without even checking the collar id. “Hello?” he said. “Ray, are you okay?” It was Bella. “Oh, hey. Yeah, sorry, I just had a little break down because of Layna and some other issues,” Bella let out a sigh of relief. “Good, at least it’s not serious. Anyways, are you still going to the movies tomorrow?” Ray thought for a minute. “I guess, if you really want me to.” “Of course I want you to come! It wouldn’t be the same without you!” A few minutes later they hung up. Ray smiled. “Maybe she really does have feelings for me,“ he said aloud.

This is my last post until you start posting...

Chapter 10-
“How many more hours until school gets out?” Bella asked Ray. “One,” Ray said. “We only have chemistry left. “Good!” Bella exclaimed. “It feels like we’ve been here for a lifetime!” Ray frowned. “Guess you are really excited about this date, huh?” Bella nodded. “Totally! Stan is soooo cute, and nice and-” Bella stopped talking. “Why do you look so down, Ray?” Ray looked up. “Oh, it’s nothing. I’m just going to be so bored at the movies, though.” “Why? You’ll have his sister there!” Ray groaned. “She has a boyfriend and she is seventeen!” Bella shrugged. “Anyways, do me a favor, don’t make out in front of me, okay?” Ray said. Bella laughed. “Don’t worry, I won’t!”
Miss Adlib came in. “So, how is everyone’s love life going?” she asked. Kids all gave different responses. “Great!” she said. “Mine is going pretty well.” She smiled the biggest smile you could ever see! She held out her hand to show the class. Everyone gasped. “You are engaged!?” Layna shouted. Miss Adlib nodded. “Yep! Now, everyone please come up here and turn in your projects.” Students got up to hand in their assignments. When Ray got up there, Miss Adlib said, “Ray, could I talk to you a second?” Ray nodded. “Sure,” he said. Miss Adlib took him to the corner of the room. “Is everything alright?” she asked. Ray tried to smile. “Yeah, I just had a break down yesterday. Not a very good day,” he explained. Miss Adlib frowned. “It’s about the whole Bella and Stan thing, isn’t it?” Ray stared at her blankly. “How do you know about this?” he questioned. Miss Adlib smiled. “I know these things. Trust me, there won’t be any love between those two.” She winked at Ray, then went back to her desk. “You may talk for the rest of class!”
Students moved all around the room. Ray got up to sit next to Bella. They talked until the school bell rang. Miss Adlib handed back all of the projects with grades on them. Bella got a one hundred percent, while Ray only got a eighty five. “I had a bad partner,” he explained outside. Bella giggled. “Sure, whatever you say, Ray!” Stan and his sister came up to them. “Ready to go?” he asked. Bella smiled. “Yep! Let’s go!” They got into the red minivan and drove to the movie theatre. They picked out a comedy, got popcorn and drinks, then found some seats in the very top row. Bella sat down first, then Ray. Stan decided to sit next to Ray and his sister, Wendy. Bella was so angry that you could see flames in her eyes.
After the movie, Bella was practically drooling over Stan. She was flirting like crazy, but nothing seemed to be working. Ray was starting to think what Miss Adlib said was right. He wanted to tell this to Bella, but he decided not to. They all got into the van to go home. When Bella got out, she shouted, “See you Monday, Stan!” Stan waved, but didn’t smile. As Ray got out of the van, he heard Wendy whisper, “She does know you have a girlfriend, right?” Ray stopped. He knew exactly why Miss Adlib had said that they wouldn’t be in love. Stan already had a girlfriend.
Half an hour after getting home, Ray dialed Stan’s cell phone number. “Hello?” Stan said. “Hey dude!” Ray shouted. “Yo! What’s up bro?” Ray knew he should find something out. “So, I heard when I got out of the van that you have a girlfriend. Is that true?” Ray knew the worst was coming. “Totally! Her name is Serena. I absolutely am in love with her!” Stan said. Ray frowned. He felt terrible for Bella. “So, how long have you two been dating?” Ray questioned. “Two years strait. Amazing, right?” “Yeah,” Ray said. “Listen, I have to go, see you Monday, okay?” “Okay,” Stan said. “Bye!” “Bye…” Ray whispered. He laid down on his bed and sighed.
Monday came around the corner fast. Stan told Ray that his girlfriend’s mom was picking him up after school to go to a fair. Ray knew that Bella would be finding out the sad truth today. After school, Bella found Stan. “Hey!” she shouted. Stan turned around. “Oh, what’s up?” he asked. Bella smiled. She was going to ask him to be her boyfriend, since she was already really into him. “Nothing much. Hey, I was just wondering, would you like to-” “Stan!” someone shouted from a few yards away. Bella looked behind Stan. She was a beautiful girl with the most gorgeous features you could ever have. She had get black hair, adorable blue eyes, porcelain skin, and perfect teeth. Bella growled silently. The girl came over and kissed Stan. Bella’s eyes widened. “Oh, who is this?” she said, trying not to sound mad. “This is my girlfriend, Serena,” Stan said. “Girlfriend!?” Bella screamed in her mind. “Well, I have to go. Later, um…Bella?” He turned around and walked away, his arm around Serena.Bella wanted to cry. She had really liked Stan. Tears started to fill her eyes. Before the first one could shed, Ray came up from behind her and patted her back. “I’m sorry you had to find out the hard way,” he said. Bella smiled. “It’s better this way,” she said. “I guess Stan isn’t perfect for me after all.” Ray smiled, then hugged Bella for the longest time. On the bus, Ray unzipped his backpack and took out his notebook. He crossed Stan off of the list and grinned at Bella. The list now looked like this:

Chapter 11-

A thought popped into Ray’s head. “Wait a minute, I never got to meet Sydney!” he said. Bella smacked her head. “I was so caught up in Stan that I forgot to introduce you to her! Sorry, want to meet her tomorrow?” Ray thought for a minute. He knew Bella was his perfect match, but he didn’t want Bella to know that yet. “Okay, how about in chemistry class?” Ray suggested. Bella smiled, then agreed to let introduce her to him.
When Ray wasn’t looking, Bella sighed happily. “His hug is so firm, yet gentle and warm-Wait what am I thinking!?” she thought. “I can’t be falling for my best friend, plus, he doesn’t like me! Does he? Of course he doesn’t!” Bella looked over at Ray, who was counting how much gum was on the bus floor. Bella giggled. “You are so goofy sometimes, Ray!” she said, almost a bit too flirtatiously. She covered her mouth, then looked away. Ray smirked, he knew she was starting to realize she’s always had feelings for him, too. He knew she’d never admit it, but somehow he’d get them together.
The next day at chemistry class, Bella and Ray sat next to Sydney. Everyone stared at them blankly. Sydney always sat alone, because everyone was so afraid of her. They decided to make small talk with her. “So, why is everyone so afraid of you?” Ray asked. Sydney took off the black jacket she always wore. There were cuts all over her arms, and some scars spelt out, “Life Is A Waste Of Time.” Bella gasped and Ray’s eyes grew wide. They both got up and went to another spot in the room. Ray took out his notebook and made it look like this:

7th Grade Boys

David
Sylvester
Alex
Dalek
Kyle
Kenny
Kai
Zack
Oscar
Skyler
Jose
Derek
Ray

7th Grade Girls

Caroline
Persia
Asia
Misty
Alice
Debra
Auis
Lola
Emily
Shay
Tally
Tatum
Bella

“I’m not into cutters,” Ray explained. Bella nodded. “I don’t blame you!” When students saw they were back in their assigned seats, they all removed themselves from the corner of the room. Miss Adlib came in with a David, a football player. “David will be joining our class since he got kicked out of woodshop,” she explained. David took a seat next to Ray. Ray glared at David. He hated his with all of his heart, but he was the reason why he and Bella became friends. He was the bully! David looked over at Bella and his face showed fear. Bella grinned at him and banged her fist into her hand. David gulped, then looked at Miss Adlib.
“Now, we will be doing a opinion project. I want you all to pick who you think is the best couple in all of the school. When you are finished, fold your paper and place it in this shoebox!” Ray closed his right eye, like he always does when he is thinking hard. Bella bit the end of her pencil and put down Skyler and Tatum, since they had been going out for two years. Ray did Caroline and Morris, since they really liked each other. Everyone got up, one by one, and put their paper in the box.
“Okay, let me tally all of the results!” Miss Adlib said. After about five minutes, she stood in the middle of the room. “The best couple, which everyone put except for two people are…Ray and Bella!” From the front of the room, Derek shouted, “I knew it!” When Bella wasn’t looking, Ray and Derek shot each other thumbs-up signs.
After class, Ray requested to see Miss Adlib. “What is on your mind, Raymond?” she asked him. Ray frowned. “Sorry, I mean Ray?” Ray smiled and said, “You were right, there was no love. How did you know Stan had a girlfriend, though?” Miss Adlib got out of her chair and walked to a file cabinet. She pulled out a photo of a class. “Serena was a star student at the old class I taught at. For the poetry contest, she entered a poem about her love for him. I saw her a few weeks ago and found out the Stan in my class was the one she wrote about,” she explained, pointing to Serena in the photo. “Oh, well, thanks teach! I have to go! Bye!” Ray ran out of the room as fast as lightning. “Relationship problems just keep coming earlier and earlier,” Miss Adlib said after he left.
Ray made it to the bus just in time. He took a seat next to Bella who was pouting. “Why did everyone pick us!?” she said, glaring at everyone who was in chemistry class. Ray shrugged. “Well, maybe because we are best friends, and they think we are meant to be,” Bella sighed. “Maybe. Anyways, why did you ask to see Miss Adlib after class?” “Oh, I just had to thank her for something is all,” Ray said as casual as possible. “Thank her about what?” she said suspiciously. “You’ll find out very soon, my little Isabella!” Ray teased.
